Scripture Writing Prompt: James 4:7

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Submit: accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person.

Biblical submission is not about one person dominating or controlling another. It's about fostering unity, mutual respect, and a healthy flow of authority within a relationship.

Resist: withstand the action or effect of.

Both of these words are action words. One has to choose to act.


Blog Prompt: Reflect on a challenging time in your life and find a Bible verse that offers
comfort.

I guess the last time I had a challenging time was when I was sick back in 2022. I had a kidney infection that went septic, and nearly died. I was in a depression after coming back home, and was feeling useless.

My go-to scripture was (and is) Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11-13
New International Version

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.


Prayer prompt: Ask God to give you compassion for your neighbors and community.
