Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover,
Something in the way she woos me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.
Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover.
Something in her style that shows me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.
You're asking me will my love grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
You stick around now it may show,
I don't know, I don't know.
Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her,
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe and how.
Surely, one of the most beautiful love songs ever written. This song shows how George had grown to be every bit as good and classy a songwriter as Lennon and McCartney. This song was written for his then-wife Pattie Boyd. What I love the most about it, though, is what I learned from watching the ‘Get Back’ documentary. For six months, all George could think of to sing was, “Something in the way she moves attracts me like a pomegranate.” John suggested ‘cauliflower’ instead, but, thankfully, George came up with the much more fitting lyrics in the end.
