Scarlett was in her second year of college and she met him. Dante was his name. They met in Choir and he was real friendly. Did I mention cute? Dark hair and dark brown eyes. Dante asked Scarlett out. She was happy. They went to a football game. They went shopping. He bought her a single pearl on a nice silver chain. They seemed happy together. I've got a feeling. Scarlett had a feeling that he would break her heart.

Dante went on Boy Scout Camping Trip with the Boy Scouts and his friend Clint. He left on Friday and came back Sunday but called her and said he was too tired. He wasn't coming over. He had been up with the Boy Scouts all weekend. He had to drink coffee to stay awake. He and Clint had to watch the Boy Scouts. He would see her Monday at college.

Scarlett and Dante were in a play together. Dante was late for play practice and Sister Johnita, the Play Director asked Scarlett why he was late. Scarlett didn't know. He worked as a janitor at the college but wasn't doing his job. The Dean Sister Joan blamed Scarlett for this.

For Christmas, Dante's stepmother bought her a star necklace and said it was from Dante. Scarlett bought Dante a nice ID Bracelet. Dante gave Scarlett a check for $50.00. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? Dante told Scarlett that they couldn't go on the college ski trip. He was going to Colorado with his father's friend, Ned.

"We had this planned. We will be on Christmas Vacation for 2 weeks. We went and bought skiing equipment. This was going to be our time."

"We can take the equipment back and get our money back."

Dante told her to tell her parents that he was in Florida, not Colorado. I, Me, Mine. Scarlett was getting tired of him. It was all about him.

The play was that night. Dante and Scarlett were brother and sister in the play. Scarlett kicked him in one scene. She thought she was acting naturally.

Dante was gone 2 weeks and had called her twice. Scarlett wasn't happy with him. Dante came home and went to hug Scarlett and she barely hugged him back. He tells her he met a girl in Colorado and showed her a picture of a blonde girl. He said Ned wanted him to date her.

"Are you moving to Colorado to be with this girl?"

"No. Ned thought I should see her but I told him I wasn't interested. I live in Indiana and have you."

Dante bought a new Cobra Car and got a job as an orderly. Dante took her to the jewelry store and bought her a diamond. Dante and Scarlett were good again.

A few weeks later, Dante got quiet and they didn't go out much. She asked him what was wrong.

"My Stepmother said I am spending too much time at work and having a girlfriend is too much. She says we should break up for awhile. Give me back my class ring and I will give you back yours. We will get back together later."

Scarlett gave Dante his ring back. He gave her back her class ring. She was walking down the hallway and heard two girls talking about Dante and a Nurses Aide that he was bringing to the College Dance. Scarlett was hurt. So, she asked Gary who went to college to be her date.

The night of the dance, Dante walked in with two dates. Scarlett just shook her head. She and Gary danced to all the dances. They danced to some Beatles tunes. The Beatles and Gary helped her forget him for awhile. She had a good time.

Three days later at college, Dante asked her for the engagement ring back. She told him no. I don't think so.

Scarlett hated being in Microbiology Class with Dante. He was her Lab partner and they ignored each other. Sister Margeta told them they needed to get along. College would be over in 2 weeks.

The next day, Scarlett went to college. Dante's car wasn't there. Good. Scarlett walked into the building. Tammy came up to her and said she was having a bad day. Dante's accident was really getting to her.

"What accident?" asked Scarlett.

"You haven't heard? Dante's new Cobra car blew a tire and he he went over an embankment. He is going to be alright. He broke a rib and will be in the hospital for a few days."

Scarlett cried. Tammy hugged her. "I know. I love him, too." Dante had three or four girls in love with him. Lovely.

College was over for the year. Scarlett went to the beach with a couple of female friends. She met a guy that looked like Robert Pattinson. Nigel was his name. Scarlett got over Dante and she was happy now. She thought about Dante now and then and remembered what a loser he was. What is life? Great now!
