There is a lot within me Other Than Scriptwriting. This blog is devoted to those stories. |
The New WDC Prompt for This Month If you are a follower of my ‘Only My Scriptwriting’ blog, then you know that I mentioned the prompting of the new WDC prompt for this month. I mentioned it in the last paragraph of yesterday’s blog entry. In a nutshell, it stated that the new prompt was posted right after I started writing my blog entry for yesterday. Luckily, I checked to see if it had been prompted before I posted my blog entry for yesterday. That’s why there is a P.S. at the end of that blog entry. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to start working on this WDC Short Story until today. I wasn’t sure if I was going to enter this contest this month, but I decided that I would. After reading this WDC prompt, it didn’t take me long to remember a Short Story that went along with this prompt. There are two problems with this remembering. One is that this is a Science Fiction Short Story. So, once again, I had to explain it. I know that no one likes me doing that, but I feel I need to so that I can write this Short Story. It doesn’t matter whether I explain it or not; I don’t win these contests anyway. So, it doesn’t matter if I explain it or not. The other problem I have is that this Short Story hits a little bit close to home. It’s not my home, but it hits where I live. At least it will be before I finish writing this Short Story, creating it, and posting it. Unfortunately, I didn’t have too much time today to work on this WDC Short Story. I barely had enough time to set it up so that I could start working on it tomorrow. That’s another problem for me. Unfortunately, I only have two more days this week to work on it. After all, I return to work this weekend. That means I have another decision to make. Usually, I devote my weekends to work for my Water Wars scriptwriting project, but I can sometimes waive that so that I can finish writing my latest contest Short Story. It looks like this may be one of those weekends. After all, I doubt that I can get this WDC Short Story finished in two days. I can do it that quickly, but it’s doubtful that I will. Normally, I’m lucky if I can get two or three Sections/Parts written in one day. I have done four Parts/Sections in one day a few times, but I have never done five in one day, let alone five in two days straight. No matter how I look at it, I will be finishing this Short Story during my twelve-hour shift on early Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. It depends on how many Sections/Parts I get done in the next two days that will determine if I can get this WDC Short Story finished during my twelve-hour shift on early Saturday evening and early Sunday morning. Whether I have four to six Parts/Sections left to write this weekend, I should get them written this Saturday evening and Sunday morning. |
