Sounds and the Wind

{photo: 1020288}

I sit in a recliner and 'listen to the sound of the wind'.
It is early morning and a few tasks remain on my things to do list. But they can wait. The cool front is starting to journey into the subdivision where my husband and I and a couple of old animals live. The morning sun has risen about 30 minutes ago. To the west, where my windows open, I see a the trees bending slightly and the leaves waving back and forth.
Autumn is about to make its appearance for the 9th time since we have moved here. On the pond that is in front of me, the ducks are swimming slowly to indicate they ate all of the chopped corn I shared with them earlier. Our dog, is outside is waiting for the neighbor to walk his dogs around the pond. But yet, the wind is soft sounding. It carries the sound of birds talking and a lone airplane coming to home at the nearby airport. There is a small crescendo of the wind and the the sound is gone. The cool front has moved on.
The air will soon warm up. The time for me to make breakfast for my husband is almost here. He will go outside to pull a few weeds from the ground and then bagworms from the trees. I have learned that he will not stop until he is satisfied with this gardening work. He will smile and then comes in to me to get his morning kiss. The television is turned on with the videos of ugly things that the world committed during the night. The slurping of the dog drinking water after he finished his food and the smacking of the cats ceased. I grabbed my tea to go to the recliner to wait for more wind to come through. If it happens, we might get rain this afternoon. If it doesn't, the heat will appear and tasks of cleaning jobs inside will resume. I hope to hear more wind.
