A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here. |
My Act Breakdown and Story Outline I was wrong about the number of sentences that I would need to finish writing this movie, The Lives of Billia and Helleni. True, I got it right with the Scene Outline with three hundred sentences before I finished writing the sentences for this scriptwriting project, but I was wrong about the Story Outline for this movie. Instead of forty-eight sentences for my Story Outline that I thought I needed to finish, I need ninety-six sentences. After all, I was thinking that it was forty-eight because that’s the number of sentences for a television episode or part of a mini-series. This is a movie, and there are twelve Acts in a movie instead of six Acts. What does that mean for this movie? It means that I have a total of four hundred and twenty sentences I need to write before I finish writing this phase of this project. Today, during my twelve-hour shift at work, I got one hundred and twenty sentences written for this project. That means I still have three hundred left to write. That’s right, I got the sentences for the Act Breakdown and the Story Outline written early yesterday evening and early this morning. That’s twenty-four sentences for my Act Breakdown and ninety-six for my Story Outline. I also had some updating that I needed to do for this Act Breakdown and Story Outline. So, it was closer to one hundred and thirty to one hundred and forty sentences, if it wasn’t a little bit more than that, that I got written early yesterday evening and early this morning. That’s not too bad when it comes to writing these sentences. After all, it was a very typical twelve-hour shift at work during the last twelve hours. It was more like nine or ten hours that I had to work on this movie. That’s how busy it was early yesterday evening at six PM WDC time to early this morning at six AM WDC time. Nine or ten hours equals about thirteen to fifteen sentences every hour. That still isn’t too good, but considering how hard it was to write these sentences, it also wasn’t too bad. Why was it so hard to write some of these sentences? It’s because some of them are generic. The first half of this movie looks okay, and the last three Acts also look good. It’s the Teaser Act Two, Act Five, and Act Six that are the possible problem. Why might it be a problem? It’s because of the Supporting Cast for this movie. There are four generations of Young Ones by the end of this movie. Most of them will be born in the Teaser Act Two, Act Five, and Act Six. That’s why it’s generic so far. These sentences reflect these Young Ones, especially between their tween years, their teen years, and after some of them Become One and have Young Ones of their own. The good news is that when I return to work early this evening to early tomorrow morning, I will start my sentences for the Scene Outline for this movie. Unfortunately, the bad news is that there are three hundred sentences in this Scene Outline. It’s very doubtful that I will get that many written during my twelve-hour shift starting this evening. |
