A blog devoted just to my scriptwriting. That’s all I’m going to blogging about here.

Through in One Day

Early yesterday evening until early this morning, I got almost halfway through my latest movie Story Outline. I got forty paragraphs written during my second twelve-hour shift this last weekend. Of course, I was hoping that I was going to get forty-eight paragraphs written for this Story Outline, but I couldn’t quite get it done.

If I had about an hour more writing time while I was at work yesterday evening and early this morning, I probably could have gotten the Tag Act One paragraphs written for my ‘The Lives of Billia and Helleni’ Story Outline. Unfortunately, I didn’t have that extra hour. As a result, I only got forty paragraphs written during this ten-hour shift.

That’s right. I didn’t have twelve hours to work on this Story Outline. It was more like about ten hours to work on it. Why did I only have ten hours to work on this Story Outline instead of twelve hours? It’s because of the weather and my responsibilities at work.

It was mainly my responsibilities at work that slowed me down with the writing of these paragraphs. I had a lot of responsibilities that I had to deal with yesterday evening and this morning. As a result, I had about two hours’ difference in the time I had for my writing.

I also had a problem with the weather that slowed me down in the amount of time I had to work on this Story Outline. It wasn’t as cold as my first twelve-hour shift, but it was still cold enough that it took me longer to get things done that needed to be done. Combining my responsibilities and the weather is one reason why I didn’t get more written.

My responsibilities and the weather weren’t the only reasons why I didn’t get forty-eight paragraphs written during my second twelve-hour shift yesterday evening and this morning.
I also had a slight problem with the paragraphs themselves, especially the Billia and Helleni storylines. Why did I have so many problems with these storylines? That’s a good question.

The answer to this question is the ages of these characters. Each Act of these characters represents a decade of their lives. Within these decades, they are a different age. What do I mean by this? It means that they aren’t the same age from the beginning of the Act until the end of the Act.

So far, I think I have had one Act with two age differences within that Act, and one with four age differences. The other three age differences had three in each Act. It’s very hard for me to write these different age differences because of all the capitalization of these characters.

When I first introduce a character, I capitalize their names and their ages. This Story Outline is a little bit different than most of my mini-serieses, television series, and movies. After all, the Billia and Helleni storylines are the only ones affected by this capitalization. With so many capitalizations, it’s hard to write most of them in this Story Outline.

Of course, I was going to try to get at least eight more paragraphs written today to make this the first half of this movie finished, but I didn’t get any of them written. Why didn’t I get any of them written today? It’s the same thing as it usually is. Because of working overnight last night, I didn’t have the time or energy to accomplish these paragraphs.
