Tide Master

I live in a cottage high on a bluff above the ocean. I have the power to control the tides and the size of the waves. I stand on the bluff and stretch out my arms and channel energy through my hands towards the water. I do it sort of subconsciously. I can't concentrate on it or think about it too much, if I do it doesn't work.

There is a small village located near the sea. The people of the village pay me to watch over their homes. Whenever there is a storm I must calm the waters so the waves don't wash their houses out to sea. It is a fairly simple task for me, and they pay me well. I'm not wealthy, but I have enough to live comfortably, and I have a lot of free time. I spend my days reading, taking walks along the shore, and writing poetry.
