First Goal Acheived!
I'm very happy! I just donated blood for the first time today, and I'm so happy! I've been trying to donate blood for quite sometime now (in fact I wanted to celebrate my 18th Bday by donating) and now I finally did it! Yay!
It's actually not as frightening as it looks and seems. In Malaysia at least, they first weigh you to make sure that you're the correct weight. Then they take your hemoglobin count by pricking your left middle finger. THAT procedure is relatively harmless and painless, unless you're a scaredy-cat like me :) I didn't want to look at it while they were doing it!
Let's see.... What DID they do after that? Oh, I know! They then take a few drops of your blood and put it on a small chart whereby the blood is then mixed with a chemical to determine your blood type (if you're uncertain), and to see if you have enough to donate. It was okay and fun while waiting.
After THAT, you're taken to a bed. THEN tehy take your blood pressure, enquire about piercings, trips overseas, yadda yadda... They had a little prob with me as they couldn;t see my veins. I'm small :)
It took about five minutes to take my blood, but about 20 to recuperate. All-in-all, it was fun! :) So go and dontae blood today! You never know whose life you might save :)
