THERE WAS SOMEONE

There was someone who held my hand,
And showed me how to use my love of Him to help me stand.
There was someone who pulled me to my feet when I stumbled and fell,
And told me to believe in Him and all would be well.
There was someone who spoke to me when no one else would,
And convinced me that with Him I'd do things I never thought I could.
There was someone who smiled and held me through the pain,
And He showed me that the sun always shines after the rain.
There was someone who stayed with me when all others fled,
And with Him I stayed and won the battle instead.
There was someone who showed me the way to go,
And when He stood beside me, I always stayed close.
There was someone who told me He'd be there till the end,
And now I look beside me and see Him there again.
There is someone who does this every single day,
And now I know that I am with my Lord to stay!
