Once Upon A Shadow, Deep Inside A Dream

Touching a Life

The setting sun,
shadowed a crippled old tree,
alone on the desert plain,
alone except for me.

Perched upon this lonely branch,
I searched the vast sky,
for a companion or friend,
who is not afraid to try.

I heard a booming voice,
loud and proud,
from out of the Heavens,
there came a large white cloud.

I know this may be hard to believe,
but from where I stand,
I promise you from my soul,
that cloud became a hand.

It reached down and touched,
my badly wounded wing,
then I heard a soft voice say,
"I love you and I am King."

Now today I'll tell you who,
touched my wing and life that day,
I hope that He will touch you too,
in His very special way.

Jesus Christ healed my wing,
He also healed my heart,
and from now until forever,
I know we'll never be apart.
