Welcome to the the Writing.com Noticing Newbies Newsletter! If you’re a newbie and haven’t already, please visit our "Noticing Newbies" forum to introduce yourself and meet other newbies, and/or "Writing.Com General Discussion" to chat with other members about a variety of topics. Either forum is a good place to mingle with your fellow Writing.com members. Lately I've noticed quite a few newbie items with the disclaimer, "This isn't finished!" or "Don't rate this yet!" I've offered reviews on a few draft pieces as well, only to be told later that the piece wasn't meant to be rated as yet. While I understand the need to have a certain piece ready for a review, why not keep your work marked private until such time as you are ready for the thoughts and opinions of others? If you haven't had time to run spellcheck, leave your item set on private until you do. Still wondering about a certain character or plot but don't want other's input just yet? Leave your piece marked private until you are completely satisfied with it or you are ready to receive the opinions of your readers. I think you'll find the ratings much truer and the reviews more concise and helpful. That said, let's move on the to business of this newsletter... let's notice some newbies! ~~~~Highlighting Newbie Items
