Gardening journal of every day in the butterfly garden. |
So because of the rabbits..I now have to find an inexpensive way to keep the rabbits from nibbling off my potted plants! The butterfly garden is an open buffet bar and I allow these animals to share the garden with me,eat what they want(well almost)and make nests to have babies...and what do they do? They nibble off the blossoms on my potted plants! Two nights ago they ate the blossoms off my pansies...yesterday I found my Rose Campions chewed off. So...after I closed last night Nubs and I drove to the local recycling place. LOL...that is like a gold mine to me. I love rusty old things and this was like a gold mine to me. Right there on one pile of metal were these metal trays..about 3'x 30" and 4" deep. 32 of them!!!!!!!!!! We dug all of them out and they'll be perfect! I walked around and I'll tell you I could have spent a day in there digging in the piles of metal! I found so many cool finds! Pieces off an old machine that was used to plow fields or something...but torn apart...looks like a daisy! Old metal rusty "things" that will look awesome as planters. We were there after dark just stashing our find along side of the building. This morning we're going back to have the items weighed and pay for them. We know the owner so we're allowed to go in after dark. I'll add a picture later of my finds....it was awesome. ~~Image #6000 Sharing Restricted~~
