My Bloody "Auntie"
It's that time of the month again. Bah. Just perfect. Now I have to deal with my ED college applications while PMS-ing and rolling around in pain from cramps. Just lovey dovey.

In China, the women actually nickname menstruation as "Big Aunt"(?) - don't ask me why. It's like a secret code amongst the Chinese Women Not-So-Secret Society. I still remember this time when I was little - my mom had dragged me to the YMCA to swim, but she refused to go with me into the pool. So I innocently asked, "Why not?"

My mother just mumbled, "My Auntie is visiting me."

I just chirped, "Okay! I won't go swimming then either - I want to meet your Auntie too!" I thought it was the only polite thing to do and was wondering why my mother didn't want me to meet such an important, mystery guest.

She just reddened and shook her head. A Chinese woman nearby laughed and they shared this frustratingly commiserating look. *Blush*
