Sharing a Passion Hi there. It is my pleasure to be a new editor for the Noticing Newbies newsletter. I first came across Writing.com (then, Stories.com) back in February 2002. It was by complete accident but the moment I stepped within it's domain, I was excited. I still remember that glow as I read the very first review of something I had posted. In fact, this glow has never left. What is so great about this community? I hope that you stick around and find out for yourself. Whether you arrived through a deliberate search, referral, or like me, by random chance, you have an opportunity to become part of a dedicated group. Writers can lead a solitary life, either by choice or by vocation. Caught up in worlds of make believe, tapping away at a keyboard or scratching out notes on screes of paper, we tend to be isolated. Writing is generally a solitary occupation. This community both provides and encourages the exchange of ideas, support, growth and inspiration. Over and above that, it provides exposure and a wealth of brilliant reading material. It's up to us all how much we participate in this community. But don't be shy. Jump in and make some friends, splash a little and see what happens. Below are some excellent ways to start becoming part of this community, but don't stop there, there is a place for many interests and backgrounds from Star Trek fans to Animal Lovers, to victims of abuse. Drop by and say hello, and very soon you will find yourself drawn into the world of passionate people. Communicate with like-minded people who all love to write and read in:
