HEALTH AND HEALERS


[God and nature have given us enough but we lose health and peace through our actions]



When we enter world we have
Our bodies and souls perfect.
It is for us to preserve
Both of them healthy, intact.

Later we often complain
Of disease, or, just feel sad.
But one could have well preserved
What in possession one had.

We wonder that why we are
Freedom from disease denied,
But we tend to forget that
Laws of nature we defied.

Body healers, physicians,
Come across patients who had
Excellent health, but lost it
Due to their habits bad.

Excess salt, hypertension,
Overeating, excess weight,
Non-exercise, heart disease,
Cancer, low fibre intake,

These and many more other
Examples often occur,
Where one causative factor
Often leads to another.

Lung cancer due to smoking,
Alcoholic cirrhosis,
Are other examples of
Preventable diseases.

Most of us are born healthy
But due to carelessness
In diet and in life style
We invite much distress.

Healers of soul, psychiatrists
Have patients with depression,
Which, in reality, is
But a mere expression

Of the fact that there is
Often expectation such
That when it is not fulfilled
It causes frustration much.

Every now and then our Lord
Tells us, whenever we need,
What we should or should not do
But this we rarely heed.

Healers of body and soul
All convey similar message:
Simple life of faith and love
Is the key to health, long age.
