SACRIFICE FOR HIM'a sonnet


[Life is short and we live but once. Shun pleasures and sacrifice for His sake]


He sent us to this world so that we may
Devote ourselves to fulfil His command;
While doing so do not quiver or sway
Though Satan may make unholy demand.

It’s not easy to resist temptation,
Or always in actions be righteous.
Though all of us desire our salvation,
To sacrifice, we are oblivious.

For pleasure of finally meeting Him,
The worldly pleasures we must sacrifice.
We must learn not to live as per our whim;
We shall not come to live in this world twice.

O man, think of Him every day and hour,
So that by grace He may your sins cover.
