MY LIFE
MY LIFE

[One may not achieve much in life. Yet, a life spent in service of the Lord is worth it.]

My life is all light and sound,
But little substance.
It is a flower without
Colour or fragrance.

My life is a fleeting cloud,
Merely a shadow.
It has no water, a blade
Of grass it can’t grow.

My life is rudderless ship,
Without direction,
Drifting wayward all the time,
But without action.

My life is a wasted one,
For me and others.
None will miss me when I go
Under the covers

But I am moulded by Him,
Him I have obeyed,
Though I have been tempted, too,
And, from Him, have swayed.

If the top I could not reach,
Why lament my fate?
They also serve who only
Stand and simply wait.
