Tales from the Bookstore

The author

We were supposed to have an author autograph yesterday and it was a booksigning set up by the author two months ago.

12:00-I clock in and Rachel tells me about the signing and also tells me she can't find the sheet about it so she thinks it is at one...but she is not quite sure.

12:30- Hyle punches in

1:00- No author. Maybe he's coming at two.

1:57- No author. I say maybe he's coming at 3:00. Hyle says maybe he likes to be punctual.

2:00- Hyle admits I am right and we mock the author. Maybe he'll come at 3:00.

2:30-Hyle finds a box that UPS delivered around 2:00. He thinks maybe the author is in there!

2:31- No author inside the box. We mock the author.

3:00- No author. We give up except for Hyle who says the author might be on California time. And we continue to mock the author.

4:00- No author. There goes Hyle's California theory...but he quickly creates a new one: Maybe the author is on Hawaiian time. And we continue to mock the author.

Long and short of it the author never showed. His book was kind of creepy so I didn't mind so much and we had a lot of fun waiting for him.
