Gilligan
We lost a dear friend last week. Gilligan. He was really Bob Denver, the actor but we will always remember him as Gilligan. Gilligan's Island was well named but Gilligan always messed up preventing everyone from leaving the island. That show will never die. Everyone has to love Gilligan. He was so funny. Can you believe that they wanted Jerry Van Dyke originally to play Gilligan? Say What? NO! It would have never worked. Thank goodness for sweet Bob Denver!

Denver also played in a comedy movie where he is driving a boat and some bad men came aboard and tied him to the steering wheel. I am sure there is another name for this but I don't know it. Bob always done comedy. He was just born for it.

I never met Gilligan personally but I did meet Alan Hale, Jr. when I was four. He was appearing in Tuson, Arizona with some other actors. I was with my mother and wandered off. Alan{the Skipper} picked me up and returned me to my mother. I always felt like I had a bond with the Skipper.

Bob Denver died September 2,2005. He was 70 and he had cancer. I have all the Gilligan's Island episodes on DVD and I will cherish them forever. Thank you Bob for Gilligan. You will always hold a special place in my heart, little buddy.
