LIFE IS NOT A BED OF ROSES: a sonnet

[Journey together can be pleasant only when the two have faith and they support, not suspect, each other.]


My love, life is not a bed of roses.
One cannot always have only pleasures.
Reality in fact so imposes:
We get losses, too, not only treasures.

Both of us are new truly in this game.
The ways of life are by us untrodden.
We should not each other needlessly blame,
If our days are presently so rotten.

Come, let us support each other and not
Submit ourselves to gnawing depression.
Though now adversity may be our lot,
Let us not have a sense of rejection.

Let us have faith and hope in Him always,
Though we can’t often understand his ways.
