Deliver Us from Weevils
i hate melony. i will never forgive her for waking me up just now. because the original plan for the night was to come in, take a quick nap and then wake up to do some writing (non-academic thank god), but then when i remembered i've only slept six of the past seventy-two hours, i decided to just go to sleep and stay that way till sometime saturday afternoon, but now i'm awake, and it's like i just had a shot of strong coffee; i'm a little bit jittery, not particularly sleepy anymore but not particularly lucid either. and after she was loud and bangy and obnoxious for the twelve seconds it took to wake me up, she left. and will probably not be back till tomorrow morning. so i ask, was it really worth it? she is a parasite on the cotton boll of my existence, right now.

but anyway, now that i'm up, and because i've already passed on all the plans for the night (except maybe dessert later, if step practice ends early enough), i might as well write something. oduduwa is working on a project, too; he's scripting a movie that he wants to start shooting at thanksgiving. he is one of my non-writer friends; his talents are in the filmmaking process itself, but he wanted us to read each other's work, so we traded. he emailed his script, i sent a short story. it's one i haven't posted, my "ducks and geese," so to speak, and now, even though i trust his writerly judgment slightly less than most of my friends', i am wildly nervous about what he'll say. whether he'll like it.

okay, he likes it. whew.

i was going to say something else about writing, since that's what i'm doing, but instead i should probably actually write something.

or not, because i just got a phone call, and now i have to get dressed for dessert. urg.
