A Simple Act
Have you ever had a mundane or even horrific day, only to have it turn around in an instant from a single act of kindness?

It could have been a smile from a loved one, a stranger holding a door open for you when your hands were full, or a simple compliment, whether it be your dress or the work you completed that day. This person may never even know how much that seemingly inconsequential action on their part made you grin for the rest of the day - all your worries gone and your problems no longer insurmountable.

While I didn't have a bad day, it wasn't anything to commit to memory (or this blog for that matter). In fact, I wondered all day just what I would write about without boring you.

But then jspinelli made me smile not once, but twice. First she added an uplifting comment to my blog, then she sent me an awardicon for this journal.

Wow, talk about unexpected! I can't express how grateful I am. It's my first awardicon, and that lovely purple ribbon sure does make my port look pretty!

Thank you again jspinelli! You made my day!
