MY ONLY WISH


My Lord, You are my only hope,
The world has turned its back.
Sunshine has gone out of my life,
My days are cold and black.

My only job, O Lord, is now
To carry out Your will.
I can’t now stand or hear or see,
But, yes, I can pray still.

Those also serve who stand and wait,
Though they can hardly move.
You know my heart,You live inside,
I’ve nothing to, You, prove.

So Lord, ere You bid me come back,
I beg You only this:
Sustain my hope and faith in You,
This is my only wish.
