The Last Smoke Break
there was a melody
supressed in the wind
crying for the release
of fingers caressing piano keys
a voice manipulating waves of sound
bending them into a moments beauty

there is a story in the melody
timeless verses of sound
bringing emotions taken for granted by passion
forced into endangerment by lust
a concept unconcieved by mass deception
words creating dew on desolate petals
fluids escaping strength
wishes of liquid form rolling down cheeks
ending by the abrupt opression of fingers
silenced by the wind

a thought reaches surface
a glance at the moon
a wonder in the night
a kiss long forgotten
a touch lingering on dead skin
a life destroyed by circumstance
a bird clipped of its feather
a song never played
words never spoken
a thought never existing
a second that did not take place
a dream misreplaced by open eyes
all that is there
is the product of Lorrilard
a white stick burning forever
for a short time
time to die
time to live
time to forget
time to let go
time
12:21 am
time to sleep
