Getting healthy . . . the doggy way.
I knew by getting a dog our lives would change in dramatic ways. Now we will have to consider Rufus before we go any where for lengthy periods, and training the little girl for retrieving and hunting will take a lot of time and effort on our part.
But there are benefits to all this. She has a lot of energy that she can't wait to expend. Yesterday she and I tore up the yard chasing each other.
I woke up this morning a bit sore, but boy did I sleep well, something very rare for me. Plus, I spend less time thinking about food and therefore snacking when I shouldn't, because I'm too busy playing with or watching Rufus to make sure she doesn't get into things she shouldn't.
So not only am I eating less, I'm getting much needed exercise.
Considering how much we've spent getting the doggy door and kennel installed, plus all the toys, food, grooming utensils, I haven't figured if it's cheaper than going to the gym.
Not that it matters. Playing with Rufus is a lot more fun.
