So ... who was Judas?

The Gospel of Judas will come out tomorrow on PBS-TV. It's been translated from the Coptic.

I believe that Jesus' Words are divine, but not necessarily the stories around him. I doubt that the early disciples or apostles deliberately made up lies; however, the truth is not always in the facts and 'facts' are mere perceptions noted by humans who
are not divine (and not always inspired either).

I consider the epistles to be exactly that ... letters = epistles. They were an attempt by early beleievers to keep the community intact. Paul's became doctrine that the church was built upon. But I don't confuse Paul with God. I think many Christians do.

So Judas has a gospel. Whether written by him or others, it hopefully will shed light on the mission of Jesus the Annointed-One. How much will be His words and how much commentary, remains to be analysed.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is an effort to discount it. It ran contrary to the early Western Church's attitudes and beliefs. And Judas may already have been vilified in the 'hostile press' of those times. [edited from my journal, pg 939-940]

So would I betray my beloved friend? Out of hatred or indifference, never. Out of love, in spite of the pain, yes. (Or at least I hope I would be strong enough if he asked. I hope he never asks.)

And then there is my Aunt Dot!

She's packing to move from Fayetteville, North Carolina to Arizona. She's leaving 18 years of gloom for the sunshine. (No, she doesn't pack a pistol; she don't need one *Bigsmile*.)

Sketched this morning:

Moving to Arizona

She packed
three pistols, two dolls,
one attitude to match.
The trip was one-way,
long.

She'd gone
to sunshine, blue skies,
a lattitude with blasts
of heat and cactus,
dust.

She crossed
those lonesome miles herself
with attitude to last.
Her life was one-way,
short,

but long enough,
a blast. [163.50]

Weekend calls.

On the week-ends, minutes are free on my cell-phone. So, I'll need to call my aunt, other family, friends. Should just post it here *Laugh*. Hell ... no one else calls!

I have a goal of calling my friends this Spring. Like in: as many as I can. Don't know how else to keep in touch. Still confused whether I can call to Canada free. Used to be able to.

Can't call if I'm spending all my time in front of a computer, now can I?

SENSED

Flowers, flowers and more flowers: iris, redbud, forsythia, tulips, vinca, lilac, dandelions; the shadow of a squirrel crossing on a telephone line; chocolate milk; m&ms; cottage cheese; fresh ground coffee.

I have more film in my camera. In this Season-of-Lace, it is important to go out daily to catch the subtle changes of color before all the leaves come out and obscure the branches and hide the layers of color as seen through the tracery of lace-like flowers, buds and small leaves.

One more view to hit 2,300!
Hey, was that you, I said, hey you ...
