WHY TALK IN WHISPERS?

WHY TALK IN WHISPERS?


Come my love, be open as
I’m open to the world.
Why talk in whispers? why should
Confounding be your word?

Why surround your message in
A shroud of secrecy?
Does secretiveness, somehow,
Promote intimacy?

Message of love does not need
The crutches of language.
When a gesture suffices,
Words can be verbiage.

But a message can falter
For just a single word.
Even the meaningful can
Be reduced to absurd.

Come, my love why should you, now,
In saying this dither:
‘I love you, I will marry
Only you, no other’.
