IS FALLING IN LOVE A FOLLY?-- a sonnet


Is falling in love a folly indeed?
No, it’s expression of a vibrant heart.
To love someone is not simply a creed.
In fact, it is the most difficult art.

Some love, but their love is not requited.
Are they the losers? Don’t they gain something?
Better, in love, remain un-united,
Than remain outside Cupid’s following.

Though we may be, in love, unsuccessful,
The fever of love is memorable.
It exerts on the mind a silken pull,
To ignore which we may not be able.

Do not sit by the pool of love, waiting.
Dive and swim, do not be hesitating.
