Weather where I am this morning: 75º.
Weather in Gothenberg, Nebraska: 57º and rainy.
Weather in Gothenberg, Sweden: 48º and showers.

Sketched two days ago after reading travel books about Montana:

Dreams of Montana and cherry pie

I dream of Montana:
clear lakes and white-capped mountains,
golden bales of hay and highways
... two lanes of gravel.

I imagine the openness
of kind people and the cold dry sky
and I want to die, be birthed again,
one in less than a million.

How many stars stare down
upon the Kootenai? Do new friends
wait for me along the Flathead?
How many in Missoula ...

I inhale the cold dry breath of Montana.
I dream of cherry pie. [163.165]

IMAGES

Orange daylilies, golden anthers; pale lavender blooms on the lime-green hostas; picking catmint for my pockets.

Three young starlings on a line, in line, turning in sync on the line, chirping (doing a line dance?)

First bloom of the yucca; linden; a young squirrel climbing an oak (better him than me); the curling bark of the locust, virginia creeper growing in a crotch of branches; pale blue moth on white clover; pink lilies; vermillion quince (seemingly going on forever).

Sketched last night:

When I sigh in Kansas

A crescent moon hangs over the gloaming,
one star in the eastern sky, one light
that does not flicker in the south,
the night sounds soften to the scent
of pink-white hollyhocks. Where is the
firefly I saw last week? What
fire does my lost soul seek?
To which light does it fly? [163.168]

I managed to help my friend Robin today. We went shopping. Boy do I love hummus with garlic *Smile*. Washed it down with tamarindo.

Met Krista. And gave her the good news of this last week. We meet again come Tuesday. La Prima Tazza has 2 for 1 on Tuesdays. I got an iced grasshopper (mint, chocolate, coffee?)

Even spoke to my mom (I need to replace my birth certificate). It was 88 there, although she said it was hotter. She stays inside when it is hot. She never liked the heat and at 84 it would stress her. Inside it's cool *Cool*.

scarlett_o_h has a cool tour of Liverpool and the Beatles in her blog for May 29th: "Invalid EntryOpen in new Window.. It begs the question: what places will become famous or memorialized by what WE write (or sing) *Smile*? The local coffeehouse, alehouse, whorehouse, warehouse, greenhouse, my house, your house, OUR house?
