Just play: don't look at your hands! |
I'm sad that I didn't even enter the slam last week. The idea of writing about a big city overwhelmed me. Hot cement and spit on the sidewalk were the images that came to mind. Now that I've read what others wrote, I realize I should have given it a try. As Lefty said, I should have been more creative. A poetic license does allow that, don't you think? At least it was a topic I could ponder all week, if I'd given it a chance. It's that rush to judgement: take one quick look and decide against, whatever it is. It's a dangerous habit. This week it's a rhyme scheme, ABCABC ABCABCD repeated 4 times. I think I've got it down, but it isn't easy to work on while doing anything else, at least not for me. I practiced with it on a single stanza for one of Crystalwizard's challenges, just a little ditty. "Pet Parade" ![]() It may be easier to write that poem than do a kudoku puzzle though, but that may not be saying much. They intrigue me too. I've never completed one. I can only stand bashing my head against a wall so many times before it isn't fun any more. As popular as they are, maybe I should buy stock in an eraser company. Except they're probably done on-line now more often. |
