Weather where I am: 77º this morning and warming up for a hot one.

Miss World Cup is Edwige Madze Badakou from Togo. Quite a beauty . FIFA starts the World Cup of Football (soccer) in Germany very soon. I know I'll be keeping track of it daily.

There is a book by Evelyn McFarlane and James Saywell called "If" that is perfect for writing prompts. Over the next months I want to give you 3/day to encourage YOU to write a short poem a short-short 300 word story or any type of writing that it inspires you to write:

1. If you could go back for one minute to the Garden of Eden and give Adam advice, what would you say?

2. If you lost feeling everywhere but in one small spot, where would you want that spot to be?

3. If you had to pick the worst teacher from your childhood, who would win the prize?

Managed to walk Marsha to the post-office. Found out that it'll cost 87 cents to send the hockey magazine.

Just took my Avapro. Such a bitter pill. Downed it with rootbeer. I don't swallow pills, I chew them.

Did manage to wash out some shirts and underwear. May not seem like much ... but the alternative is worse (take my word on that) .

Just found out that an old acquaintance from North Tonawanda, New York has died. Shirley Lazich was Dan's wife and Mike's mother.

Perhaps an explanation first?

How many times do we really stop and look at what is there? Hmmmmm. If the truth be told, not often. How fewer times do we notice what is NOT there, not just what is missing from yesterday, but what could be there and isn't? This is what I noticed while walking down the alley from The Pig to Henry's:

No staples on the poles above arm's reach; no life where stone and sidewalk are sealed against the wayward seed; no doors at the alley's level (only one with one step); no silence (people, birds and fans); no clean dumpsters; no street lights; no solid wall of buildings on both sides (always gaps); no ripe mulberries on the bush (dang birds!).
