Closed for business, but be sure to check out my new place! |
Well, I finally heard from my mentor on Lesson 50! It only took him a month! At least I know he didn't die or anything, so that's good. He also said he's working on my manuscript submission, so I'll hold off a tish longer before seriously searching for a different agent. =========================================== I spent a few hours at Barnes & Nobel's coffee shop on Saturday to catch up on some writing. Although it's not surprising, it is saddening to see more women in a bookstore than men. A publisher said they want to publish books to cater to more women than men, because by the time a boy reaches 10, they lose interest in reading. Now, my question is, do boys lose interest in reading because they would rather do other things, or is it because there aren't enough books written for boys and men to keep them interested? Pardon the cliche, but since we have chickens everywhere anyway, it's almost the chicken or the egg thing, isn't it? =========================================== I just want to say what fun this new war, as David McClain so aptly calls it, "Chicken-Plucking, Don't Steal my Bimbo" wars Isn't that great? Now that's a book I'd buy! But lucky for us all, we get to read it for free and watch it unfold in real time! It's been quite the hoot! Much of Blogville feels the same with all these chickens running around everywhere, and the occasional celebrity sighting of Olivia Newton John, Shenia Twain and Brittany (not Spears). If you don't know what I'm talking about yet, check out partyof5dj's blog: "Invalid Item" and ccstring's glob: "Invalid Item" . Being Monday and all, and not many liking the day, I thought you could use the gaffaws. Just keep an eye out for chickens, especially nekked ones. They scare me. Someone, somewhere, somehow, released flocks and flocks of them. They're everywhere, and I can't seem to keep my blog clean anymore. Poop everywhere!!! *squish, squish* Dang it. And I just bought these shoes! |
