A little something about nothing

Just when you think you've got it bad...

My dad sent an email last night, which I got this morning, letting a group of us know about his friend that just had a stroke. This is a guy my dad has known for many years and I think I've known his nearly my whole life. He is only 42!!

My dad just called to give me an update since his surgery. He is now in a coma and 1/2 his body is paralyzed and they say he isn't out of the woods yet. Wow, amazing how things can change in a matter of hours!!

I know he used to be a heavy drinker and was into drugs so I asked my dad if he had been taking care of himself. He recently lost his job, got a bill from the phone company for $5,800.00, was trying to hook up with a girl that wanted nothing to do with him, ate crap and was drinking. Oh, and his mother had a stroke at 43; however, hers was a clot, his clot blew up.

I can't give fully sympathy for someone that doesn't make any attempts to take care of themselves, but it is still sad to see someone so young throw their lives away like that...if nothing else, at least keep your health in check!!
