Blood Red Petals
My hand is extended to touch you,
I long to feel your caress.
I have no hold upon you,
No reason for you to stay with me.

Stay, beloved, for the darkest hour,
Stay, my love, until night fades.
Dawn brings the promise of forever,
Hold me close until time ceases to exist.

Can I touch you? Can I hold you?
Will you stay and love me completely?
Can I feel you? Can I know you?
I burn with desire, passion, love.

Blood red petals upon a snow covered ground,
Burning tears upon pale, cold cheeks.
Screaming, crying, begging with no sound,
All I needed, wanted, was you, my love.

Fingering your hair between my fingertips,
Fevered flesh pressed against fevered flesh.
Dreaming of your tender kiss upon my parted lips,
Poisoning my soul with my obsession of you.

Running my hands over your muscled back,
Your powerful hands moving to ignite my flesh.
Deepening kisses reminding me of what I lack,
Your true, complete and endless love.

Sighing, gasping, our bodies are entwining,
You complete me, fill me, engulf me.
In darkness, passion mounts with breathless crying,
You are gone when the darkness fades.

Blood red petals upon a sheet of white,
Burning tears upon passion warmed pillows.
Night giving way to blinding light,
Reality crashing with dream, ending hope.

Blood red petals upon a snow covered ground,
Petals from the rose you crushed in your hand.
Imagining 'I love you' whispered, there is no sound,
Remembering your touch now that I'm alone.

The truth was always there if I would see,
Blood red petals from the crushed rose.
A scent, a touch, a smile, a look, always reminds me,
Of a night of love that I can never again know.
