Watch out! Here they come!
My parents leave Colorado this morning and should be here Saturday evening to move into their new home up here.

I'm partially excited, but also anxious. Dave and I went to their new house to pound in the mailbox, and we found it's not done. It's livable, but the attached garage isn't near finished. My nervousness comes from not knowing if my parents know that.

So last night on the way home I convinced myself it's not my concern. It's their house, and since I didn't build the thing, I can't take responsibility for its status. Plus Tom may still be stressed about moving up here. He's afraid he'll not be able to find work (he's a welder) and he'll go insane with nothing to do. Understandable since he's lived in Colorado all his life, and has a well-established clientelle. Even though he sold his shop and is officially retired, he's still busy. The nice thing is that he has more freedom to say no and say, "I'm not going to work today." Change is difficult for everyone, but the older one gets, the harder it is to deal with it.

Personally, with Bismarck growing so fast, and so many people needing little welding jobs at their farms or homes, plus there's a welding school opening in the next few months - assuming he wouldn't mind teaching - I don't think he'll have trouble finding work.

All Dave and I have to do next is be at the house when all the furniture is delivered. We have the keys, but as yet there's nothing in there to . . . um . . . abscond with, *Smirk*. Then again, does anyone need a new dining room set? How 'bout a brand new fridge and dishwasher? I'll sell them cheap, but you must act now! Sale ends Saturday morning!

My next several entries may be short as we'll be busy getting my parents settled and showing them around town.

I hope both will be happy here, and fall in love with North Dakota just as Dave and I have.
