The Bible is wrong
Yep, you read the title right. The Bible is wrong. Some people claim everything about it is correct, it is without error, and they too, are wrong.

That book was written by men, revised by men, edited by men, and all men are imperfect. They do many things, things that influence millions of people, with an ulterior motive. More often than not those ulterior motives help them and them alone, the people be damned – in some cases literally.

I could spend the next few weeks pointing out every inconsistency, every contradiction to prove my premise, that the Bible is a mere book, useful for perhaps history, or to laugh at and bash more because so many millions of people have fallen pray to its wrongful and in some cases devastating influence.

What brought this on? After all, I am a Christian, will forever be one, and gain much hope, insight, wisdom and joy from reading the Bible. How can I, one who loves this book like I do, bash it at the same time? Do you think perhaps I’m being sarcastic, that I don’t believe what I just wrote? Nope. I do believe these things.

However, reading scripture requires one element I haven’t yet mentioned. Without it, the Bible will remain a book full of contradictions, hateful descriminations, and hopeless futures.

Does reading the Bible require an open mind? Partly, but that’s still not the key.

The Holy Spirit makes the Bible something other than a mere book. As we read, with an open mind and a genuine desire to find knowledge, wisdom, faith and hope, the Holy Spirit whispers in our ear and points out the very things we need when we need them.

He’s what makes the Bible perfect.
