SHALL I ?'a sonnet Shall I yet live to see tomorrow’s dawn? Or, shall this sunset truly be my last? Shall I be remembered with love or scorn? Or, shall I be in oblivion cast? Shall my friends of today become my foes? Or, shall my foes be converted to friends? Shall my admirers shower on me blows? Shall my detractors obey my errands? Shall I spurn plain faces who have been kind And manufacture love for a beauty? Why should such useless thoughts dwell in my mind? Why not simply carry out my duty?
