I have always tried to respect others feelings, but sometimes their are times when you think of calling it quits on everything. I pay my subscription to be able to post quizzes and poems etc., but lately I have been made to feel that I don't have that right because of a certain member of this writing group who is upset with other members who have criticized her style of writing and picked me as a target to take it out on. Below is the actual notes wrote to me by twinkledee ♥'s you and my replies.

From: twinkledee

Good quiz! The only critical things I would have to say is that you can't view the correct answers and that many of the questions were American-based. I'm Australian! There's other nationalities here.

But good job at coming up with all those questions.

My Reply:

I'm an American and I'm sure that would explain why I know more about my country. I did not attend any of your schools to know your history. I would never put down anyone for not knowing our American history. Your the 1st person to outright criticize me for not knowing a foreign country's history. I will remove it so I will not offend anyone in the future. I never said that I was a genius. I'm mixed with Native American and White as well as Black and Portuguese, so you see I'm part of those many other nationalities here.

Twinkledee's reply:

I didn't mean to offend you. And I'm not putting you down personally whatsoever. And I wasn't suggesting you make it a 'world quiz' so to speak. I was just
saying that the questions that are so specifically American do leave out those that aren't. I mean, you didn't say it was a quiz on American history. There
are questions that are universal that could be used.

And by no means should you remove it. That's not necessary in the least. Maybe I should have worded my email a little more sensitively. I'm just tired of this site being so specifically American sometimes. It may be based in America but there are so many people from other countries here... probably a good 50%. And
then I still get picked up for writing 'colour' with a 'u'.

Sorry. Didn't mean to take it out on you. Forgive me?

My Reply:

My mother always told me to forgive.Sometimes it is so hard when you are hurt by your immediate family. My father was severly abusive to my mother and us children. I got used to his hurtful ways but I never liked them. The United States is a melting pot of all countries. Have you ever thought about making a website with an Australian based writing group? Changes are made by people who are willing to step forward and change them.

Twinkledee's reply:

I'm sorry to hear that.

Australia is very multi-cultural too.. I think the statistics are something like 90% of Australian's parents were born overseas. So I wasn't trying to be
racist or having a dig at America at all.

There probably already is an Australian writing website. And I quite like this one anyway. I just think it could be more embracing of other countries.. that's all. Tell you what - I'll blog about it and get it out of my system, so I don't make any more accidental hurtful comments to anyone else.

And you're right, it is hard to forgive when you've been hurt so badly. There are a lot of horrible people in the world... but for every bad man is two good
ones. I hope so anyway.

P.S. I read her blog message on the 23rd of November and nothing was mentioned about writing.com writers criticizing her in anyway. Certainly nothing about her raging at me. Nothing written about the abuse dished out in my direction. It was a conversation she wrote about someone named (Paul) she was having a argument with during an MSN conversation. What did that have to do with me? Nothing at all!!!!!!!!!!!!
