HOW SHALL I GO WHEN I DO GO? How shall I go when I do go? Why should that bother me? I should think about my duty, Not about destiny. I controlled not how I was born, My death I can’t control. But I can control how I live. Let that my aim be sole. If at all, though, I pray to God About how shall I go, I pray I pass off without noise And don’t my trumpet blow. I cried at birth, I keep crying, As along life I trip. Silently, Lord, I may depart, With Your praise on my lip. * Written in abcb, 8-6-8-6 format. * Written as a sample poem around the prompt “HOW SHALL I GO WHEN I DO GO?” for the month of December 2006 for 15th round of my monthly contest "POETRY IN RHYME - RHYTHM CONTEST-winner" • REQUEST—While reviewing, please copy and paste the following in your review: This is a review for “entry:472375".
