18 Qawl 163 B.E. - December 9, 2006 at 5:36:15 PM PST I created my first storyboard in PowerPoint, it is part of a continuing assignment. This is the first part of the board, the next part I’ll create next week. I creating a learning module for EDU640, the subject I’ve chosen is the Tahirih, the Pure One. The title of the module is Tahirih, the martyr for Women’s Rights. I’ve got five chapters or units planned. The problem is I think that I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. The project is quite large and Tahirih’s life is complicated. Much more complicated than I thought when I started. Fortunately, the module don’t have to be completed until the next class, EDU674, which starts sometime in January. I’ll have a couple of weeks or so between the end of the present class and the beginning to the next to work on the module. I’m creating the module in Lectora. It’s not that I’m worried about the Lectora program. It’s a computer program and I, normally, have no problems learning a program. The subject is one that I’m interested in and want to learn more about. It’s just that I’m worried about how it will turn out. Maybe I’ll cut it down and just do the parts about Tahirih’s Early Life, the Conference at Badasht, and her death. On the other hand, I could just continue and do it this way, without changing. I’d like to include some of Tahirih’s poems in the module. I have the sources at home. I have three books about her, but I can only find two books. I’ll have to look for the other book after this class ends. The books I’ve found are Tahirih: A Portrait in Poetry, Selected Poems by the Qurratu’L-’Ayn edited and translated by Amin Banani and Tahirih in History: Perspectives on Qurratu’L-’Ayn from East and West edited by Sabir Afaqi. The other book is one that is out of print at the moment and I can’t remember the name of it right off hand (maybe that’s why I can’t find it). |
