For what, who knows? After all the day is almost over. One more hour and I get to go home. Two more hours, and Dave and I are spending supper with my mom. She's cooking steak *slurp* (Sorry for the drool. It's one of my favorite foods ![]() I think I know now why I love mornings. It's an opportunity to start afresh. The sun rises (even though I didn't see it today for the cloud cover), extinguishing the dark, both in my mind as well as my soul. Today I have some control over, tomorrow not so much, and yesterday is over and done. How can I not rise with hope each morning? One message I have been getting from all over is to live for today. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow can take care of itself. welkerdeb said it in her blog a few days ago, zwisis quoted it in hers today, and I have even written it in my own, especially lately. Have you ever discovered surprising nuggets of wisdom from your writing? I do all the time. Why would that be? After all, aren't we only writing down what already exists in our mind? For me, writing is my method to retain my sanity. It always has been, especially as a teen. Writing it down on paper gives me an opportunity to see what's in my head from a different perspective. Plus, I gave my hands to God at sixteen. He uses them many times at His discretion, not mine. So when I say these words are not mine, they truly are not. I am but the instrument. After all, we don't ooh and ahh at the instrument as it's being played, but at the musician. That's not to say we don't appreciate a beautifully designed guitar, piano, or violin as both an instrument and work of art. What truly makes it special, however, is the musician who knows how to take full advantage of the instrument's capabilities. I sent my very first text message on my phone today. Why that excites me, couldn't tell ya. Perhaps because I did something different, yet did something every one else is doing. Now I feel soooo technically savvy and hip! I now know why people shorten words down to near nothing when they text (this is also the first time I used 'text' as a verb). Wow, is it combersome! In the three messages I sent, no more than two sentences each, they took me almost five minutes apiece! I can see why people are now buying the phones that have qwerty keypads, even if they need a sewing needle and magnifying glass to hit the right button ![]() Okay, I'm done rambling. I think . . . I'm not done! Nada ![]() Sort of *snicker* ALSO! Today is The StoryMaster ![]() ![]() |
