That House
that house

so i'm told
i'm to lose
that house

the house
which i've spent
my childhood in

two short years with mom
-- all i remember of her --
in that house

eight more years
with dad{/}
intermittent, but happy

may would have been
our ten year anniversary
-- mine, anyway

not to come
ugly words, instead
foreclosure, move, sell

i wave goodbye
to that house
to everything familiar and warm
