The Fountain
I agree with the some on the IMDB Message Board for the recently released The Fountain DVD who posted ideas that this film's core examined Life and Death. It explored the acceptance of death on a level I already accept spiritually.

Hugh Jackman portrayed Tomas/Tommy with all the depth his lovely hazel eyes could carry forth. I felt it was more an artful disclosure than a story. As such, I did not form a conclusion that I was watching three separate stories or timeframes woven together. Rather, when asked what I got out of it, I quickly replied that Tom was struggling — mind, body and soul — with the experience of his wife's condition and accepting death.

I was affected most by having an insight in spite of thinking the film, while visually and dramatically strong, had failed.
