Online journal capturing the moment and the memory of moments. A meadow meditation. |
Under red stop signs I am the corner where the school girls meet where the fireplug's a rest stop for dogs on a leash. I view intersections of what's been or what will be. When the present is ignored, I laugh with glee. Here my curb lays broken, glass wounds all heels, Here shards remain a token of cold pain that won't heal in the mirror of the puddles that splash on the whines of the school girls soaked under red stop signs. © Kåre Enga [164.147] 07-07-23 IMAGES: The biting mosquitos; brown grubs; soft humus soil; stubborn roots; chirps from the birds; the smell of crushed marigold. Me ... taking a cold shower ... I hate cold showers! Soap down; put conditioner in hair; make sure a towel is very handy; test the water; 'jump' in and try not to sqawk; try not to fall down (I got dizzy); make it quick!; dry off. THOUGHTS: My blog is slipping ... Obviously the change to a shorter less personal blog is not pulling in the views. In May, I was approaching 2,000 views for a 30 day period. Now it is at 900. On July 14th I had only 7 views; on the 22nd 5! Some factors: 1. I haven't been reading as many blogs as I was for awhile. (I've been gardening et cetera.) 2. Others have cut back on their blogging and reading. (I'm not the only one.) 3. Some of my favorites have left all together. (I am always reading new people though.) 4. I cut back to every other day or 3/week. (I have little access to internet on Saturday, less on Sunday.) 5. My blog is boring! (Oh well, 3 years of high-anxiety was enough for me. My personal blog is still at: "Hoarfrosts from Hell" [GC] but my life is boring ... That journal doesn't have even a thousand views yet, but then it is not public.) 6. No interesting entries that have been googled. (No, I do NOT know Brittany whatever-her-name-is.) 7. Poetry entries have a small audience. (It's true. Personal exposé is far more popular. Humor is too .) 8. My friends and family do not check out my blog. So ... what to do ... I've decided for now to do nothing. I have goals to write 3 poetic sketches every 2 days and to share as much as I can. That was my main reason to join WDC in the first place. This fall I want to go to poetry and writer's conferences. There are two coming up in Oklahoma and Vivian will be at one of them. (I still think I have actually met her before ...) I also will travel and my travel experiences will spice up my blog somewhat. 22,300 |
