If you don't have a dream, how are you going to make a dream come true? |
I wasn't planning on doing NaNo this year. I really don't think I'll have the time. Then I found out who's doing the pep-talks this year. You see, when you're signed up for NaNo, you get periodic pep-talks, usually from Chris Baty, the guy behind NaNo. This year, though, they got some guests to do it, well-known writers: Julianna Baggott Neil Gaiman Sue Grafton Sara Gruen Garth Nix Naomi Novik Deanna Raybourn Tom Robbins Two of those are some of my very favorite writers, in my top five. Hell, in my top three. I'm so excited! So I've decided to try doing NaNo this year. Honestly, I'll be very surprised if I finish. My idea is the same one Traci and I had over the summer: A woman writing in a diary. It's going to be called, 'I'm Not Crazy" or something like that. The woman's shrink makes her write in a diary, which she doesn't want to do. She doesn't think she has any problems. She makes up most of the stories in her diary, though by the end, it becomes apparent that she does, in fact, have some serious issues. If you're doing NaNo, too, tell me your name on the site, so we can be writing buddies. I know there's a Writing.com group there, too: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1001078 And I think I might get this to help since I have absolutely no real plan for this novel:
Hey, there's no harm in attempting NaNo, right? Who's with me? |
