the funny thing about NaNo
So I thought I had this great idea for my NaNo novel all planned out. I came up with the idea a few months ago. Well, the problem with coming up with a plot that far in advance is that you can get bored with it. Which I have.
So, I have a new plot forming in my mind, inspired by this:
Invalid Item This item number is not valid. #1331130 by Not Available.
The idea keeps getting bigger and more complex (which is good), and I almost couldn't sleep last night with my mind exploring possibilities for it.
I've been experimenting adding chapters to interactive stories for the past few days. (I've done 21 chapters so far!) They're really awesome writing exercises. I personally think they're a great way to gear up for NaNo!
At first I was kind of scared about writing in interactives. I get worried that the owner of one isn't going to like what I add. I got over that, though. I think interactive owners are just thrilled to have someone add to their story, (I should know, I have one, too - "Invalid Item" ) and like I said, it's a good exercise coming up with new chapters.
Now I have to come up with a title for my NaNo novel! It's a super-natural mystery!
