Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

Sweet potatoes
Sweet potatoes

She sat in the window,
unable to move. This was her world;
She cherished the view.

Til today when she stared
at leaves hanging from vines,
chartreuse and purple,
their heart shapes entwined.

She glared at their message,
uncompromised
by the rain, by the heat.
This was their time
for setting out roots
where their stems touched the mud.
They moved as they grew
fettered by love
as each morning
leaves sparkled with dew.

She squirmed on her seat
unable to leave, unwilling to stay
till the nurse came at lunchtime
to whisk her away.

Well, I find the rhythm of the above sketch annoying at best! Thankfully, I've got that out of my system ...

IMAGES:

At night, the shadow of a potted sweet potato on the refrigerator door; etched by the light from the steel plant's lamp next door.

WEIRD MUSINGS:

1. His boxers were creeping, Apaches intent on sneaking up behind him to wipe his ass.
2. 'we-2' versus 'us-2' versus 'the both of us'. How do we express plural and duality, inclusivity and exclusivity in English?
3. Chocolate covered creamsickle, incoming flight.
4. Lips: sugar dispenser (gimme turbinado, raw is best)
5. Pee pronounced as "peh-ee".
6. Meeting of the meow club.
7. When the weight of the dead becomes more than the lift of the living.
8. NW New Mexico, along Hwy 456: "and whose damn wedding cake is it anyways?"
9. Hilf mir; я cyшл c yмa (Help me [German]; I was crazy [Russian])

Yamanaka's Hawai'ian in her book Wild Meat and Bully burgers is driving me nuts!

Does "pau" mean finished and "when the wind blows Kona" mean an onshore breeze or a certain quality to the air?

ME:

Monday night, I met with eight others to read poetry at Signs of Life, a Christian bookstore. 6 of us read. Because we were in a tight circle I was emboldened to read "God's ArseOpen in new Window. [18+] as well as "This houseOpen in new Window., "The Way HomeOpen in new Window. and "Two sunsOpen in new Window..

The general theme was "love and new beginnings". *Rolleyes* I have so much written about that that it is difficult for me to find, less remember, what I've written, so I went with recent sketches.

Tuesday's Frog Hour at Indy Inc. (Independence Incorporated, a non-profit Independent-Living-Center for folks with disabilities, however defined.) : We sat around and I came up with the phrase: "Beware of blonds with eyes of blue". We-all continued with "he hurt me once with lies untrue" and it disintegrated from there. We had fun!

Tuesday night ... didn't go downtown as I usually do. Didn't want the long walk back. So I read a little and ate doughnuts.

Kansas: 37º and a cold mist (*Snow1* later)
