If you don't have a dream, how are you going to make a dream come true? |
Well, my computer's still dead and I have no idea when I'll be able to afford to get it back up and running, but in the meantime the local library has computers with internet access! I couldn't remember if it did, so I didn't want to get my hopes up just in case. My in-laws also have a computer, but I didn't want to be bothering them everyday. Now I can come here! I won't be in more than maybe once per day, though. ...I just read a sign here: "There is a 1 hour time limit to computer use especially if people are waiting." Hm... well, I guess I'll only have an hour at a time or something. I'm starting my job hunting today. I'm going everywhere I can think of to see if anyone's hiring. I don't care what it is. I just need a job! So far my options with the computer seem to be: 1. Replace the motherboard (new one is $90, plus I'd need a new memory thingy. I don't know how much that is) 2. Get a new CPU since mine is 5 years old and probably on its last legs, anyway. I wouldn't need the monitor, keyboard, etc., just the unit itself. The computer store here takes trade-ins, so I could get some credit for what I have, but I doubt it will be a lot since it's old. (and emachines are not reliable from what I hear) I have no idea how much it would cost to get a new one... I'm still waiting to hear from my brother-in-law's contact on getting a motherboard. He might be able to get it cheaper than the $90 one at the computer store. So for now, I'm focusing on getting a job. Wish me luck! |
