My blog, my words, my dreams. |
Hi everybody! This is me, this is my blog, and this is hopefullly a way to help anyone who needs it and answer some questions at the same time! Yes, I am indeed a Mormon. I'd rather be called a Latter Day Saint, though. Thanks! Yes, I have a weakness for potato salad and green Jello and I can't date until I'm sixteen, but, despite what you might think, I love my religion and I live it to its fullest. I feel like the last man (woman) standing as my peers are swept into alcohol and . I feel like I'm the freak show because I live what I believe. And you know what? I feel happier than most people could ever claim to be. Many people think that religion binds you. That it wraps around you and cuts off your circulation so that you can't even batt an eyelash without feeling trapped. Many people are wrong. Religion is the balm that soothes your pains and past scars. It's a source of freedom like you'd never imagine. I can do what I want, believe in what I do, act like I should, and still feel like I am happier than anyone else. To clarify many misconceptions, yes, Mormons dance. Yes, Mormons have fun. It's sick to have to clarify that your religion lets you have fun. I probably have more fun than a lot of people here! No, we do not practice and yes, we do believe in Christ. Our whole religion is centered around him and it disgusts me to see people through barbs at us about us not being Christian. Without Christ, we would be nothing. How could we not believe in Christ? To me a belief in Christ is the starting point of any religion. He is the reason I'm here. He's the reason you're here. Remember this. If you have any questions about me or my religion, email me! I'll help you out, I promise. And who knows? Maybe your conceptions will change . . . |
